Beneath Music (various dates)

Any pseudo-comprehensive guide to my musical activities from 1995-2000 would, I fear, be rather tedious and maybe tendentious too. However, on this page I will from time to time unveil various things from various times, according as I run across them. MP3s of the full albums mentioned are possible later, but server space won't allow this at the moment.

The Fatima Mansions Blandalanda (1995)

Taken from the last Mansions studio session, at Matrix and Love Shack, with Mark Saunders as producer. The lyric is my Vegas travelogue, the music maybe Mansions-by-numbers, but it has its moments...the album it was meant to soften the listener up for was never completed.

Cathal Coughlan Enjoy Stoat House (1997)

From the The Yacht Album (aka Hairy Isotope), this song was intended as a back-to-basics gesture after the nerve-wracking times of trying to find a new and "respectable" direction which might pull everything back together. Random chord sequence, all tracks recorded in Grimmo's living room.

Cathal Coughlan Digital Hard-on (1998)

Similar fare - funny for 2 mins, then childishly annoying forever more, thus scarcely worth inflicting on the muzak-worshipping nylon pants world. Yours now for the price of a BT ripoff telephone call. Also known to corporeal coprophiliac America as a track on the Useless Man (Hairy Isotope II) album.

Cathal Coughlan Useless Man (1998)

Title-track of a disaster. Not much else to say...
